My name is Jen Herold, just your average Florida homeschooling mama - and in a past life a former Republican political candidate and early President Trump endorsee.  Our family lives in unincorporated Flagler County, Florida.

Recently our county proposed an additional tax on our barrier island - despite the fact we are already a net exporter of tax dollars to the remainder of the county.  None of the commissioners who passed this tax live in the district - textbook taxation without representation!  It was passed despite overwhelming opposition.  My husband Rob, who was at the meeting where it passed said in public comments maybe it was time the barrier island broke away and formed its own county.

The idea took off amongst our neighbors, but it felt daunting.  So, we prayed on it.  After the assassination of Charlie Kirk, I thought - what would he say?  If Charlie built a powerhouse of an organization starting from his garage as an 18 year old - anything is possible.  And who better to name our new county after than Charlie's friend and the ultimate disrupter and drainer of the swamp - Florida's own President Trump.
